Coffee in France

And this time we will travel to France.. Café au lait (French for “coffee with milk”) is coffee with hot milk added to it. This coffee is different from white coffee, which is coffee with cold milk or other bleaches added. Although it is often compared to other European varieties, especially the espresso-based Italian caffè latte, this French version of coffee and heated milk is mostly made with brewed coffee and is traditionally made from a French press. The proportions of the ingredients also vary, and café au lait usually has equal amounts of both and, unlike a café latte, mostly has no foam on top.

There is usually confusion between these two types of drinks because these terms are used interchangeably in some European countries that do not make a clear distinction between these two types. Also, Café au lait can sometimes be made with espresso. Similar types that combine coffee and milk are used in most European countries. In France, it is common to dip a croissant in coffee. Drinking coffee with milk is usually done early in the morning and a large glass is used. So, you can dip your croissant in it. In this country, never order flavored coffee. Also, do not order filtered coffee and coffee with whipped cream. In France, coffee is always drunk after dessert.
